Thompson's Station's Preservation Park was purchased and opened to the public in 2015. Currently the park has only dirt/gravel/mowed grass trails that lead into and through the park and a small gravel parking area at 1600 Thompson's Station Road West.
In March 2016, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board adopted the Preservation Park Master Plan prepared by HFR Design. The new park plan proposes improvements such as an amphitheater, an expansion of the community gardens, trails and an education center. The plan also includes potential future improvements for equestrian uses.
In the Summer/Fall of 2016, the Town completed a portion of the Greenway Trail from Tollgate Village past the Community Gardens and Nutro Dog Park to the edge of Preservation Park. The Greenway Trail will extend through Preservation Park to the parking lot with a TAP Grant the Town was awarded from the State of Tennessee. (See Thompson's Station Greenway for details.)
Natural surface trails were constructed throughout the park to provide hiking opportunities, specifically the Battlefield and Depot Trails. Please see map for more information about the trails in Preservation Park.
The Town is currently working on a capital improvement plan to strategize future improvements in Preservation Park. Please refer to the master plan for more information about the future improvements in the park

Latest News - The parking lot has been doubled in size, new restrooms have been added and a new Pavilion has been built in Preservation Park! The first pavilion built in Preservation, converted from an existing storage barn, is now available for rent on the Town's Website!
